Your digital brain needs well-placed references

I counted the text sizes on my site. Twenty-five. Nobody had decided them · they’d just accumulated.

That’s exactly the mess I straighten out for my clients. Except this time, it was mine.

A brand isn’t a logo. It’s a promise repeated without fault.

And you can’t repeat without fault if every page, every post, every email reinvents its sizes, margins and colors by eye. You think you’re making choices. You’re making noise. The fix isn’t « more taste ». It’s fewer choices. One reference, set once, that everything else obeys.

So I put my brand in order. Not by eye · by the golden ratio.

  • Every text size climbs by φ, 1.618. Twenty-five became nine.
  • Spaces follow the Fibonacci sequence · 8, 13, 21, 34, 55. Not a single « roughly » margin left.
  • And the color: my coral sits exactly between two shades from a 1933 Japanese dictionary. My brand was already right · I just didn’t know it.

Now, the real point. It’s your AI.

The brand system is a well-placed reference. Your AI needs exactly the same thing. An AI without references decides at random · it reinvents a tone, a reply, every time. An AI with the right references in the right place decides like you, to your taste, and holds when you’re not there.

The golden ratio for my pixels is the anecdote. The principle is the heart of the job: a well-referenced system decides better than a rushed human.

P.S. The page I’m showing you isn’t a sales page. It’s my kitchen, open. If you lead and you feel your digital drifting for lack of references, that’s exactly the kind of thing we put back in order together.
